FrontlineSMS:Credit is a software not-for-profit that works with organizations that serve the base of the economic pyramid to bring benefits of mobile money to the poor. By expanding the uses of mobile money in developing markets, FrontlineSMS:Credit helps to fulfill the promise of mobile money to provide the poor with new access to financial services and enable new business models that aid in development.
FrontlineSMS:Credit is a sister organization to FrontlineSMS, whose desktop SMS platform enables grassroots organizations to take full advantage of the spread of mobile technologies to communicate effectively with remote and marginalized populations.
FrontlineSMS:Credit was founded in 2009 and was recognized for its approach by the Pop!Tech Social Innovation Fellowship program in 2010.
