FrontlineSMS:Credit aims to make every formal financial service available to the entrepreneurial poor in 160 characters or less. By meshing the functionality of FrontlineSMS with local mobile payment systems, implementing institutions will be able to provide a full range of customizable services, from savings and credit to insurance and payroll.

Dear Colleagues, Family & Friends,

FrontlineSMS:Credit, our initiative to bring formal financial services to the entrepreneurial poor in 160 characters or less, has been selected as one of forty-two finalists for the inaugural class of The Unreasonable Institute , a social business incubator that aims to give “high-impact social entrepreneurs wings”. Only twenty-five will be accepted. Accordingly, we need your help!

Please consider donating just $10 to FrontlineSMS:Credit on the Finalist Marketplace. You will only be charged if we win! A video describing the marketplace and final selection process is available here. Also, a press release and one-page summary of The Unreasonable Institute are attached.

If selected, a representative from FrontlineSMS:Credit will receive ten weeks of intense business training, culminating in an investment conference in which we’ll secure funding to begin operations on multiple continents. Our representative will, not only receive a ‘mini-MBA’, but prepare us to make a real and lasting impact in the lives of over one million people in just one year’s time.

Want to give more than $10? Help us spread the word: Link to our profile on your Facebook status! Shout your support into the Twittersphere! Retweet your own support from multiple accounts! Write a blog post! Forward this message to everyone on your contact list!

We’ve done everything we can to make it this far in the process. Now it’s up to you. Any and all support is deeply appreciated. Together, we have the potential to create something truly unique and powerful: a world in which everyone has equal access to fair finance – all from their phone!

Unreasonably yours,
Ben
